The purpose of rangoli is more than just decoration- it is a way to connect with our close and loved ones. Often beautiful and symbolic, they can be used to celebrate any occasion. These geometric designs were a part of our Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in 2022. Beautiful and unique, we used this beautiful art form to inspire feelings of joy and peace. We aspire to a healthy and happy workforce that spreads mutual respect and harmony. With this in mind, we took the initiative to organize a rangoli competition on this auspicious occasion.
We work well when we feel well- that is what InSnap follows. Fun activities engage creatively with the mind. We are always up for organizing healthy fun filled competitions and events because they bring our employees closer and lead to a more synchronized workplace. On August 31st, 2022, InSnap’s Ganesh Chaturthi preparations were in full swing. The different types of rangoli ideas that our employees came up with attracted happiness, positivity, and liveliness. Elaborate designs that featured geometric shapes depicted Ganpati Bappa. We also used flower and petal forms appropriate to the Vinayaka Chaviti observance. Drawn with powdered calcite and limestone or cereal powders, Rangolis added color and vibrance to our office floors and walls.
We invoked the deity and created a sacred space within the confines of our work environment. Every participant used their creative minds to produce designs that were capable of putting a smile on our faces. The employees had pre-planned their patterns and had come prepared with all the materials. Some selected colors were provided to the participants and the challenge was to creatively incorporate the given colors in their design which added a slight twist to the competition and encouraged our employees to think innovatively. The criteria for judgment were the selection of the design, neatness, clarity, color combination and creativity or new ideas implemented by our employees to make their designs more presentable.
The margins were fine and we presented the awards to our winners Rupa and Periyaswamy. In overall presentation and neatness, their use of vibrant colors was appreciated by our judges. In a workplace environment, it is not always possible to understand and know your fellow employee. Such experiences offer that insight- often that helps us coordinate and perform better.
